For some strange reason, I feel Bollywood starlets love to see them being a part of the ‘30 and above’ and still single gang. Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen and now Vidya Balan, all these hotties have had their share of rumored link-ups and broken relationship, yet it’s amusing that they don’t wish to settle down anytime soon. For past few days, there’s a lot being said about Vidya Balan getting married to long time beau UTV honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur. I fail to understand why the news (or maybe rumours) is driving everyone crazy. Isn’t ‘34’ a decent age to get married? So if Vidya Balan is going the family way, why is it becoming the hottest agenda of discussion for the entire nation? Or maybe media and Bollywood fans are quite used to making a mountain out of a mole.
Though I am wondering why Vidya delayed her marriage plans in the first place. Despite the fact that Vidya never came out in open admitting her love affair with Siddharth, gossipmongers have been talking about their relationship since year 2010. By then, Vidya had already been part of successful films such as Lage Raho Munnabhai, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Paa, Ishqiya. By that logic, neither was Vidya’s career at such heights that she couldn’t step back for a break nor she was a struggler who needed to spend years before making a mark in the industry. Then what made her wait for so long?
With Sushmita Sen, it’s still understandable that she decided to be a single mother but what about others? Rani has been linked to Aditya Chopra for long now and every time there’s a buzz of the two tying the knot, everyone goes crazy. Talk of Preity Zinta, she is no different. Having dated business tycoon Ness Wadia for quite a few years, the lady chose her acting career over him and called off their relationship.
Well, look like that Vidya Balan wasn’t much content with the fame that came her way and being called as the lady ‘Khan’ of Bollywood was the milestone she waited for. After films like Paa, Dirty Picture, Kahaani, it was clear that the actress par excellence can carry a Box Office hit alone on her shoulders. And now that dreams have started to come true, it’s time for wedding bells to ring and speculations are rife that preparations are on full swing for Vidya’s wedding in December.
It’s indeed going to be a heady combination to witness Tamilian beauty Vidya Balan getting married to Punjabi boy Siddharth Kapur. Let’s just hope that the hottie resumes acting soon after enjoying her ‘just married’ status.
