Aamir Khan’s ‘Talaash’ made easier!

Aamir Khan’s ‘Talaash’ made easier!

It’s not just for the sake of it that Aamir Khan is often referred to as Mr. Perfectionist. The ways he does things is tough to be matched. Unlike other Khans who wait for the apt occasion (read holiday) to release their big bang and highly anticipated films, Aamir Khan does it a bit differently.

With ‘Talaash’ all set for a non-holiday Friday release on November 30, the actor is pretty sure that it will do outstandingly well. What confidence Aamir… Laudable! Though in the past, Aamir Khan also has had Christmas time release with super hit films including ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘3 idiots’ but with ‘Talaash’, it’s going to be an experiment worth all risks.

Though I feel more than anything else, the sole reason of film’s success would be the fact that Aamir Khan will be seen doing a full fledged lead role on big screen after a long gap of almost 3 years. Certainly a treat and reason to celebrate for Aamir Khan Fans! Clearly when you reach this stature in your career; you don’t need to impress your fans with two-three movies a year. Even one film in a year or at a gap or two can suffice and keep you at the TOP.

However, Aamir’s extended guest appearance in Kiran Rao’s directorial debut ‘Dhobhi Ghat’ featuring did create some noise last year but lacking the commercially viable factor, it wasn’t an out-and-out Aamir Khan film. So expectations from ‘Talaash’ are even higher.

Amid all this, I wonder why there were not any major promotional activities being done before the release of the film. It’s only a week ago that promos were shown on small screen and the star cast was seen making public appearances. And if this also didn’t serve the purpose well, then Khap critic murder case added to Aamir’s brand value.

The honor killing of 28-year-old Abdul Hakim, who was shot dead in a UP village brought Aamir Khan into spotlight, as Hakim had participated in Aamir’s debut TV show Satyamev Jayate and spoke against the menace of dishonour killing.

Agree or not, but this turned out to be an unwanted promotional tool for the film ‘coz obviously wherever Aamir showed his concern and despair on this honor killing, he couldn’t have escaped answering a few questions about his forthcoming film ‘Talaash’ as well. I am waiting to watch how the movie actually fares at the Box Office.
